How do I Scan to PDF within PaperPort?
PaperPort 8 does not have PDF creation capability, you must have Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer installed.
PaperPort version 9, 10 and 11 have PDF creation capability, you simply need to set the default file type to .pdf prior to initiating a scan.
  1. Click on the "Scan"button at the top and then look for a "Settings" link on the left.
  2. Click "Settings" and set the "File Type" to "PDF Image" (.pdf).
  3. Click the "Scan"button under settings to get the Scan Manager.
  4. Set your options and click "Scan".
  5. Click "Done"on the Scan Manager.
Your PDF should now be on the PaperPort Desktop.

The PDF's created with PaperPort are Image based. To create Text searchable PDF's you must use Adobe Acrobat Writer or a similar PDF authoring tool.

Creating an application link in PaperPort 8 or earlier for Adobe Acrobat Writer 6 does not work. You must use the print driver that comes with Adobe Acrobat Writer. Install Adobe Acrobat Writer andcheck the printer driver option if it is not available in "Printers". Once it is installed, print the document from within PaperPort and select the Adobe AcrobatPDF printer.
Note: You must use Adobe Acrobat if you want to create a secure PDF file.

If you have a OneTouch 4.0 driver installed for your scanner you can create PDF files directly from OneTouch. When you press a button on your scanner a PDF file is automatically created and sent to either PaperPort or a folder location on your computer. Please see the links below for creating PDF files with OneTouch 4.0.
