VIS1027 - Clean and Calibrate a Strobe Sheetfed Scanner

Symptom:

Scanned images have black lines, streaks or the image is black and or blank.

Cause:

There may be a corrupt calibration file or dirt, ink, and debris obstructing the lens.

Solution:

The image quality is maintained and the overall life of the product may be extended with proper cleaning. Your scanner should be cleaned once a week or after every 100 scans to remove dust and paper debris from the rollers and scanning head. If there is any degradation in image quality, you should first try cleaning the scanner followed by re-calibration. This will resolve most image quality issues.

Note: If you do not have a calibration page see the section labeled "Ordering a Calibration Page" at the bottom of this article.
