Title: Inverted Scans - Black Image with White Text

Symptom:
 
Inverted scans, negative image or images appear to have black background with white text.
 
Solution:
 
  1. Make sure the "Invert Image" option is not selected within the Scan Manager Screen



  2. Update your PaperPort Software and Operating System
    1. If you are running PaperPort version 9.0 Deluxe, please click pp9sp3.exe to download the PaperPort Service Pack 3 update.
      If you are running PaperPort version 9.0 Pro Office, please click PP9POSP3.exe to download the update.
      Note: Please have your installation cd on hand. You will be prompted to insert it into your disk drive.
      If you cannot locate or have misplaced your cd and you have a Visioneer product, please click Visioneer Software Cd Collection to order another cd or contact Customer Service for your product
    2. Click Microsoft Update to perform necessary Windows updates for your Operating System.

  3. Update your scanner driver:
    For instructions on ReInstalling Your Scanner Driver, choose your Operating System below:
  4. Modify the "avscan32.ini" file
    If you own a Visioneer Strobe XP450, 9450, 9650, or 9750PDF and are using an UI-less ("User Interface") application:
    1. Click "Start" then "Search" for "avscan32.ini"
    2. Right click on this file then click "Open with " then choose "Notepad" then click "OK".
    3. Change the "Invert Image" option from 0 to 1 or 1 to 0
    4. Restart your computer

  5. Clean Uninstall
    If you still are experiencing inverted scans, please follow our Manual Clean Uninstall procedure, and then reinstall your scanner software. Click on the link below for your Operating System.
