VIS1558 - Power Tools for OneTouch 4.0
 
Symptom:
 
When scanning with OneTouch 4.0, you want some additional features including the ability to use a custom naming scheme, prompt for the file name and/or folder, scan to the currently selected PaperPort folder and/or be able to right-click on a folder in 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer' and set it as the scan destination.
 
Solution:
 
This workaround is beta and is provided 'as is', with no warranty or support. It adds a 'Power Tools' option in OneTouch 4.0. This has several features including the ability to:
  • Save scans with a custom naming scheme
  • Scan to the currently selected PaperPort folder
  • Prompt for the file name and/or folder when scanning
  • Automatically attach the scan to a blank email
  • It also includes several expert features such as launching any application with the scanned file(s) as command line arguments and the ability to automatically email the scanned files using SMTP
Plus Features

Selecting 'PowerTools Plus' in OneTouch will give you additional features to the ones described above. These include:
  • Blank page removal and job separation
  • Edge cleanup
  • Black background scanner cropping
  • Auto trim to length between letter and legal
  • Manual page rotation
  • Redaction
  • Supports the following file formats: BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF Group 4 (CCITT4), TIFF LZW, and TIFF uncompressed.
    • The Plus features do NOT support PDF output

Prerequisites

In order for Power Tools to work correctly, you may need to update your driver. To update your driver, use the links below:
  • Visioneer United States: Once on the support page, select your Product Family. Then select your scanner model and click on "Drivers and Manuals".
  • Visioneer Europe: Once on the support page, select your Product Family, then select your scanner model, then click on "Drivers and Manuals".
  • Xerox United States: Once on the support page select your scanner model.
  • Xerox Europe: Once on the support page, select your scanner product family then product.
Note: This utility also requires .NET framework 1.1 or higher. If you do not have .NET 1.1 or higher, click here to visit Microsoft's webpage for more information and a link to download .NET 1.1.
