VIS1005 - PaperPort 10 and 11 Manual Uninstall
 
Symptom:
 
You want to manually uninstall PaperPort 10 or 11, you are not able to remove PaperPort using the normal uninstall process or the normal uninstall process did not resolve your problem.
 
Solution:
 
Step 1 - Download the remover utility
  1. Click here to download PP10_11_Remover.
  2. Click "Save" when prompted.
  3. Vista: Click "Browse Folders" then "Desktop".
    All others: In the 'Save As' window, click on "Desktop".
  4. Click on the "Save" button to download the utility.
  5. Once PP10_11_Remover.exe has downloaded, print these directions and close all other open windows so you are looking at your Windows desktop.
  1. In your web browser address bar type http://support.visioneer.com/utilities/PP10_11_Remover.exe
  2. Hit enter on your keyboard
  3. Click "Save" when prompted.
  4. Vista: Click "Browse Folders" then "Desktop".
    All others: In the 'Save As' window, click on "Desktop".
  5. Click on the "Save" button to download the utility.
  6. Once PP10_11_Remover.exe has downloaded, click "Close" in the 'Download complete' window.
Step 2 - Uninstall PaperPort From Add/Remove Programs
  1. Click "Start" then "Control Panel"
  2. Open "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" (Vista).
  3. Select "ScanSoft PaperPort".
  4. Click the "Remove" button.
  5. Follow the wizard completely through the uninstall process.
Step 3 - Run the Remover Tool (no log file will be created)
  1. Minimize or close any open windows so you can see your Windows Desktop and find PP10_11_Remover.exe.
  2. Double click PP10_11_Remover.exe
  3. Follow the prompts to run the utility.
Step 4 - Remove the PaperPort Printers
  1. Go to "Start" then "Control Panel".
  2. Click on "Printers and Faxes" or "Printers".
    • XP users many need to click "Printers and other hardware first."
  3. Right click on any PaperPort Printer and click "Delete".
  4. Choose "Yes" when prompted to confirm removal of the printer.
Step 5 - Restart Then Rerun the Removal Tool
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Once the computer has restarted, follow the instructions under "Step 3" to rerun the removal tool.
Step 6 - Reinstall PaperPort

Reinstall PaperPort using your installation CD.

Note: Disable any anti-virus, anti-spyware or firewall software before reinstalling PaperPort.
