You want to turn off lamp warm up on your scanner.
ADF units do not have the option to turn off the lamp warm up.

For other models, click VIS1100 - Configuring OneTouch 3.0 Scan Buttons for instructions on shutting off lamp warm up.
ADF units do not have the option to turn off the lamp warm up. For ADF models with a OneTouch 4.0 driver you can change the lamp power off mode from 10 minutes to 10 hours, preventing the scanner from going into power save mode and preventing the wake-up period. Please be aware that adjusting this setting for longer delay periods will shorten the life of the scanner lamp as the lamp will be on for the period selected.
If you are unsure of whether you have a OneTouch 3.0 or OneTouch 4.0 driver:
  1. Click here then click on "Run" to run a utility that will tell you which version of the scanner driver you have installed.
  2. Open the Windows Control Panel then open "Add/Remove Programs". If "OneTouch 4.0" is in the program list then you have that driver installed.
Click VIS1186 - Change Power Save Settings for instructions on how to change this setting.
If you do not have OneTouch 4.0 then there is no way for you to change the lamp delay.
