Symptom:
 
You want to scan as or view PaperPort MAX files.
 
Solution:
 
.MAX is a file format unique to PaperPort. This means that in order to scan as a MAX file you will need to scan in PaperPort. Starting with version 4.0, OneTouch does not have any ability to scan as a MAX file. Since MAX files are proprietary to PaperPort, others may have difficulty opening MAX files. You may want to consider using a format that is more universally viewable like PDF or TIFF.

To configure PaperPort to scan as a MAX file:
  1. Open the scan pane
  2. Click on the 'Settings' button
  3. Click on the 'Output' tab
  4. Select 'MAX' for the file type
